You are guaranteed acceptance if you are under age 70 and actively engaged as a full-time physician (including full-time medical students and residents) or retired.

Your spouse or domestic partner, under age 70, and all your dependent children through age 26 are also guaranteed acceptance as dependents under your coverage.

No. No medical testing or health questions are required to enroll; your acceptance is guaranteed.

Yes. As a physician, you are guaranteed approval for this coverage as long as you are under age 70. No pre-existing condition limitations apply, and no medical exam is required.

If your spouse and children meet the eligibility requirements, their approval as dependents under your coverage is also guaranteed.

You can select $1,000,000, $750,000 or $500,000 in coverage.

Yes, a member’s or a spouse’s accidental death and dismemberment full benefit amount will reduce by 75% on the date the member or spouse attains age 70.

No. Membership in the AMA is not required to enroll, although Members pay less.

This insurance pays benefits for accidental death or specified injuries related to a covered accident.

Your benefits go directly to you or to your beneficiary, or to anyone you choose, not to a doctor or hospital.

Your coverage is effective upon our receipt of your enrollment form, provided your first premium is paid when due and as described in the “Effective Date” section on this FAQ page.

No. You will not be asked to send any payment now or to provide any credit card or other confidential information with your enrollment form. Your first premium payment is not due until after you receive your billing notice, which will be enclosed with your Certificate of Insurance.

You’ll have a full 30 days after you receive your Certificate of Insurance to make sure you’re completely satisfied with your coverage. If you change your mind, you can return your certificate without claim within that 30-day period your coverage will be invalidated and you will get a full refund of any premium paid.
